Christopher Warmuth
Christopher Warmuth studied music journalism, cultural and media management, and psychology. He worked as a freelance music critic: in addition to music journalism for public broadcasters (BR, WDR, etc.) and various print and online magazines, he regularly published in the Arts section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. He then worked in cultural management at the Heidelberger Frühling music festival, where he designed the interdisciplinary LAB (including music theater Castor&&Pollux, staged song recital DIA_LOG, etc.), was responsible for the digital strategy of the institution and was the referent to the artistic director. In the 2021/22 to 2023/24 seasons, he was dramaturg at the Bayerische Staatsoper, where he also hosted the podcast Hand aufs Hirn. In Munich, he worked with Christopher Rüping, Anna Bernreitner, Barrie Kosky, Claus Guth and Tobias Kratzer, among others. For the 2024/25 season, he will be joining the Hamburg State Opera as Deputy Chief Dramaturg from 2025/26 under the artistic direction of Tobias Kratzer. (Status: 2025)
