Composer Mauricio Kagel.
Discovery, pacification and conversion of the Mediterranean area by an Amazonian tribeDuration est. 1 hours 20 minutes

Mauricio Kagel is considered one of the most important post-war stalwarts of the musical theatre avantgarde. He himself called his works 'instrumental theatre' - the musicians, with their instruments and musical progressions, performing theatrically. In his works, he also tackled current societal issues, rendering them programmatically. In Mare Nostrum – the ancient name for the Mediterranean Sea – he looks at the connections, conflicts and ideas emerging from intercultural coalescence, for which the Mediterranean is known to this day. As current mass-migration trends demonstrate, this is more pertinent than ever.
