Raúl Ferreira Fernández was born in Spain and trained at the Conservatorio de Danza in Lugo (Spain) and at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg. After graduating, he was engaged by the Mariinsky Ballet, where he danced numerous roles in productions of the world-famous company's repertoire: Giselle, Le Corsaire, La Bayadère, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Le sacre du printemps, Paquita, Raymonda as well as Alexei Ratmansky's Konyok-Gorbunok or Leonid Yakobson's Shurale. He has been a member of the Bavarian State Ballet since May 2021.
