SEPTEMBERFEST

Zum Auftakt der Spielzeit zeigt das neu gegründete Septemberfest, dass Exzellenz und Öffnung keine Gegensätze sein müssen. Höchste künstlerische Qualität soll für die gesamte Breite der Bevölkerung zugänglich und erlebbar sein. Diese Vision zählt zu den wichtigsten Zielen von Staatsintendant Serge Dorny. Zur Eröffnung des Septemberfests singt Jonas Kaufmann im Oper für alle-Konzert des Bayerischen Staatsorchesters live in Ansbach. Zehn Tage lang feiern wir sodann die Eröffnung der Spielzeit mit einem vielseitigen Programm, das voller Überraschungen steckt. Opern von Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi und Richard Wagner und die Ballettproduktion Liaison mit verschiedenen Choreographien werden im Prinzregententheater, im Nationaltheater und im Cuvilliés-Theater zu erleben sein. Ein Kammerkonzert der Orchesterakademie und ein Liederabend mit Christian Gerhaher ergänzen das musikalische Programm.

Liaison is a short ballet evening by the Bayerisches Staatsballett and is part of the opening of the 2021/2022 season at the Cuvilliés Theatre. With its top-class cast, the production is aimed both at fans of the company and at all those who are curious about the work of the Bayerisches Staatsballett. The programme, which lasts about an hour, combines the dreamy, melancholy piece With a Chance of Rain by Liam Scarlett to the piano music of Sergei W. Rachmaninoff and Özkan Ayik's DAY TWO (TAG ZWEI) , which premiered in the series Today is tomorrow (Heute ist morgen) 2021, in which works by younger choreographers are presented annually. The production Liaison brings together two choreographic signatures, two musical styles and two very different perspectives on ballet. In addition, the intimate setting of the Cuvilliés Theatre, one of the most important rococo theatres in Germany, enables a very special connection between the auditorium and the stage. For in the smaller space, the energy of dance is conveyed somewhat more directly than is the case in the much larger National Theatre or the Prinzregenten Theatre. The Bayerisches Staatstballett is delighted to be involved in the start of Serge Dorny's directorship at the Bayerische Staatsoper. With the production Liaison the dance company wants to awaken positive forces that underlie every creative connection.
