Elmira Karakhanova

Elmira Karakhanova, born in Russia, studied at the Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow and has been in the Young Artist Program of the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow since 2018. She has also appeared on the opera stage in France, the Netherlands and St. Petersburg in Francis Poulenc's Les mamelles de Tirésias, Modest Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov or Sergei W. Rachmaninov's Zemfira. Concerts have taken the young singer to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow or to the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, where she performed as part of a guest performance at the Bolshoi Theatre. She has received numerous awards at competitions, especially for her interpretation of works by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky and Sergei V. Rachmaninov, such as first prize at the tenth international Rimsky-Korsakov Competition for opera singing in 2016. In 2021 she won first place at the second José Carreras Grand Prix in Moscow. Since the beginning of the 2022/23 season she has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper. Parts in the 2022/23 season: Taumännchen (Hansel and Gretel),1st Witch (Dido ans Aeneas ... Erwartung), A Slave (Salome), A Priestess (Aida) and Schopfhenne (The Cunning Little Vixen).
