Elmira Karakhanova
Elmira Karakhanova, born in Russia, studied at the Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow and has been in the Young Artist Program of the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow since 2018. She has appeared on the opera stage in France, the Netherlands and St. Petersburg in Poulenc's Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov and Rachmaninov's Aleko. Concerts have taken the singer to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow and to the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, where she performed as part of a guest performance of the Bolshoi Theatre. She has received numerous awards at competitions, especially for her interpretation of works by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov, such as first prize at the international Rimsky-Korsakov Competition for opera singing in 2016. In 2021 she won first place at the José Carreras Grand Prix in Moscow. In the 2022/23 season she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper and sang A Slave (Salome), A Priestess (Aida) and Schopfhenne (The Cunning Little Vixen) among other roles.
