Marion Motin

Choreographer

Marion Motin is a dancer and choreographer whose artistic roots are in the hip-hop scene in France. Marion Motin made a name for herself performing on "Battles" and founding the crew "Swaggers", with whom she created her first piece In the middle. As a dancer, audiences could meet her on the street, in music videos, in commercials or on stage, such as in Elles by Sylvain Groud in 2010, on tour with Angelin Preljocaj's company in 2011 or in the MDNA tour alongside Madonna in 2012. Since 2013, her choreographic work can be seen in a lot of Stromae's projects. In 2014, she collaborated with Christine and The Queens, who commissioned her to choreograph their tour and some of their music videos. In 2020, Marion Motin choreographed Angèle's show for her Zenith tour. She also created choreographies for pop star Dua Lipa and was nominated for the Brit Awards for her dance contribution to the music video IDGAF. In film, Marion Motin has worked with numerous actors and actresses of French cinema, such as Juliette Binoche, Romain Duris or Virgine Efira. In 2018, she creates her solo Massacre, which she dances herself. In 2019, she creates Rouge for Rambert Dance Company at the invitation of Benoit Swan Pouffer. The piece premiered at Sadler's Well. In 2015, Marion Motin worked for the show Résiste at the invitation of France Gall. Jean-Paul Gaultier brought her in for his Fashion Freak show, which premiered at the cabaret Les Folies Bergère in 2018. In 2021 and 2022, Marion continued her collaboration with Stromaé (music videos and tour). She also choreographed the music videos of the artist Muddy Monk. At the Bayerisches Staatsballett, Marion Motin's first sequence from her dance piece Le Grand Sot was shown in June 2023 as part of the ballet evening Sphären.01.
