Festrede zur Eröffnung der Münchner Opernfestspiele

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Munich Opera Festival, the festival revived its long-standing tradition of an opening address last year: During a grand ceremony at the Nationaltheater, Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, delivered the keynote address. In 2026, the festival will once again open with a keynote address, to be delivered in English by the internationally acclaimed artist Jeff Koons at the Prinzregententheater. The musical program will be presented by the Bayerische Staatsorchester and vocal soloists and will be announced at a later date.
